Our VolunteersUnitingCare Ballarat has over 550 volunteers who cook, drive, visit, counsel, provide friendship, fundraise, answer phones, work in our shops, pack food hampers, clean, care and contribute great ideas and spirit .…. UnitingCare would not be able to do its vital work without volunteers. As well as helping the community, volunteering is a chance to meet new people and practice new and old skills. LIFELINE BALLARAT: Lifeline has been training volunteer telephone counsellors in Ballarat for over 36 years. Lifeline Ballarat is a registered Training organisation. Breezeway - Ballarat’s Meals Program for Homeless people has a team of 50 volunteers who cook and serve meals to over 50 people every day, 7 days a week, including Christmas Day. Contact Barb Cole on 5337 2721.

YRIPP Youth Referral and Independent Person Program. Volunteer as an Independent Person with YRIPP. An Independent Person (IP) is a volunteer who is independent of the Criminal Justice System and supports young people during interviews with Police when a parent or guardian is unavailable. Community Transport provides a caring door-to-door service for frail aged or people who have a disability who need transport and are unable to manage the cost of a taxi or unable to access bus services. Community Visitors Scheme Volunteers are matched to residents of aged care facilities who are lonely and would like a special one to one visitor. Contact 5335 3504.
Support for Carers Volunteers are needed to occasionally sit with a person aged over 65 in their home, so that their carer can have some time out. Contact Gail Reid on 5335 3500. Buddies - Buddies Volunteers are matched with adults with a disability who share similar interests in order to participate in social and recreational activities. Contact Donna on 5335 3502.
