Social Housing Innovations Project (SHIP)

The Social Housing Innovations Project (SHIP) is a partnership project with the State Government that provides a long-term housing solution for people on low incomes.

11 houses and 23 units have been built in Ballarat, Wendouree, Bacchus Marsh and Trentham.

The SHIP Project is a partnership with the State Government.

UnitingCare Ballarat contributed over $1million to the SHIP project.  The houses and units are modern and spacious with landscaping and carports. Our tenants find them a pleasure to live in.

The project is an exciting venture and involves the collaboration of the Uniting Church with some of the land; the Department of Human Services for major funding; and UnitingCare for funding,  construction and management of the properties and tenancies. The project will assist with the increasing struggle for low-income earners to find affordable housing within our region.
