Transport Connections (Statewide Project) Connect to Ballarat A Victorian Government program that helps communities in rural and regional Victoria and outer metropolitan areas develop strategies to address their transport needs. Through local partnerships and the use of existing transport assets and services, such as taxis, school buses, community buses and volunteers, communities are able to develop new approaches that enable people to get around more easily.
For more information http://mc2.vicnet.net.au/home/c2btcp/web/index.html Partners Transport is consistently rated by rural and regional communities as one of the most significant barriers to accessing services, employment and social networks. Transport Connections projects have demonstrated the potential of working with the community to make better use of existing transport resources. The projects help to make services more accessible by complimenting existing transport rather than competing with local transport business. Benefits Each Transport Connections project involves a partnership between members of the community, including state and local government, the community and voluntary transport sector, existing community or health networks and public and private transport providers Bob Reid "Connect to Ballarat" Transport Connections Project Officer Aged and disAbility Services UnitingCare Ballarat 121 Albert St Ballarat VIC 3350 (PO.Box 608 Ballarat 3353) PH: 5333 5559 Fax: 5334 4129 Mob: 0437 129 533 Email: breid@unitingcareballarat.com.au Web: http://www.unitingcareballarat.com.au/index.php/transport
